'TeaSoft' mobile app released to prevent tea smuggling, ensure revenue collection

A software and mobile app named 'TeaSoft', developed by the Bangladesh Tea Board, has been launched to prevent tea smuggling, ensure revenue collection, and obtain accurate information for building Smart Bangladesh. Major General Md. Ashraful Islam, ndc, psc, Chairman, Bangladesh Tea Board, inaugurated the software on September 13, 2023, at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, Panchagarh. Dr. Mohammad Shameem Al Mamun, Principal Scientific Officer, Bangladesh Tea Research Institute, is the innovator of this software and mobile app. In the development of the tea industry for building smart Bangladesh, he has previously developed 'Duti Pata Ekti Kuri', 'Camellia Open Sky School', 'Bangabandhu Tea Gallery', 'Somotoler Cha Shilpo', IPM Technology in Tea', and 'Tea24’. "Tea Soft: Smart Tea Management System" is newly developed software/app under the innovation action plan of Bangladesh Tea Board to prevent tea smuggling, ensure revenue collection, and obtain accurate information on tea in the construction of Smart Bangladesh by the government. Through the software, the sale of raw leaves by tea gardens/farmers in Panchagarh, the purchase of raw leaves by factories from farmers, the submission of factory-made tea 'Form A' to the VAT office after proper filling, the approval of the invoice form by the local VAT office, and an automatically issued despatch with a unique QRcode or barcode; Collection, verification of the correctness of the QRcode or barcode by the concerned authority, despatch of tea to the concerned warehouse in the transport, and confirmation of availability of despatched tea by the warehouse will be possible. As it will prevent tea smuggling, it will also ensure revenue collection by the government.
